What is the Flex-Schedule?

Flex-scheduling is an expansion of weekdays that games will be played for our Minors and Major Division. Each week will be a varied pattern instead of the previous set weekday pattern. Players and families will develop a schedule that matches their baseball interest and commitment level.

Why create the Flex-Schedule?

We believe that a flexible game schedule aligns with SYBSA's mission to help Sharon youth learn life lessons through the game of baseball. This change removes one more barrier from kids joining us on the diamond and allowing us to teach such lessons.

Aids Multi-sport Athletes - Lessens the pressure to choose baseball over another sport for Sharon athletes playing multiple sports.
Supports SYBSA's Families - Flex-Schedule opens more opportunities for our families with players in different divisions to get a night off from Deb Sampson.
Improves Player Development - Baseball obsessed players will find opportunities to play 5 or 6 nights a week if they so choose.

How does Flex-schedule work?

Communication will be the engine to power this change. SYBSA will communicate game schedule 4 weeks in advance. Games rescheduled will be announced via our website. And we ask parents to communicate weekly via our website on intended game attendance schedule.

Staying the Same

Two/Three Games per week; One/Two Practices per week
Weekday Times: 5:30 PM & 7:30 PM
Weekend Times: 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM

Bring the New

Formal Schedule provide 4 weeks prior to season start.
Weekly parent game attendance confirmation via RSVP process
Addition of Available Player Pool (See Details Below)

Available Player Pool

The Player Pool is a structured process for SYBSA managers to request alternate players when members of their team can not attend a game. All players on AAA, Minors, and Majors are part of the pool by default. Players may opt-out of Player Pool by simply not responding to any request for additional players.
