After a couple of months playing spring baseball, many kids are ready to kick it up a notch and play in a more competitive travel league. Sharon teams play in the District 8 and Hockomock Leagues. This is a commitment for both the players and the parents as kids are expected to make practices and travel games in Franklin, Attleboro, Raynham and beyond. Home games will be at Deborah Sampson Park. There is also now a third league called the Barnstormer League and it is a No-Cut Summer Travel League. Please note: The no-travel Summer Recreational Baseball League, which has been run by the Sharon Rec. Dept in past years, is no longer available.

Barnstormer League (No Cut Travel)
This travel league is organized by SYBSA. Sharon will have teams in two separate age groups, 8-10, and 10-12. There will be ten regular season games, with five of these games played in Sharon, and the other five played in nearby towns such as Norfolk, Plainville, Walpole, etc. The season will run from late June until approx. the end of July. In addition to the ten regular games, there will be a few playoff games first week in August. Games are generally played Monday through Thursday evenings. The league is intended as a purely recreation program, but in a competitive environment. The league uses umpires and Sharon uniform shirts, with the child's name on the back. Kids should provide white baseball pants and maroon socks. The cost is $130, which includes the uniform. We will have new shirts this year so everyone is required to pay the full price. To register your child, please send and email to Cary Nevins, league coordinator, with your child's name, age and birth date at cnevins@jakesplace1.com.
